About Us
Company information
Founded in 2001, Digilabtek is a solid and innovative company specialized in custom electronic design. In over two decades of activity, we have accompanied companies and startups in the development of reliable, scalable and cutting-edge electronic solutions.
The company deals with the creation of boards based on Atmel microprocessors of the ATTiny, ATMega, Xmega, ARM, STM32, RP2, ESP32, NXP series or CPLD / FPGA of the Xilinx, Lattice series.
Recently the company has also tried its hand at realizing its ideas, in 2021 the creation of boards for the control of RGB displays with HUB75 interface, in 2025 we have started the creation of a utility device for those who use the computer for work and beyond, the Columbus Egg.
our core business

The realization of our projects starts from the idea of our client, then after the feasibility study we begin with the design of the electrical diagram, the creation of the PCB, the development of the firmware, the prototype assembly and all the related tests necessary to validate and industrialize the finished product.

Columbus Egg Project
The Columbus Egg project is an idea born from our need, in using the computer for many hours a day and having to often type the same content, inserting code, repetitive texts, inserting logins and passwords, we thought of creating a device capable of simplifying and accelerating all these operations that we and all those who especially use the computer for work repeat many times a day. The brief is a small 3.5” IPS display with Touch function equipped with a microcontroller, connected to the computer via a common USB cable, in this device we have a total of 48 fully programmable keys, to these keys we can assign different functions, such as entering texts, entering login, email and password, programming special functions such as CTRL+C or CTRL+V and others, the ability to start programs with the simple press of an icon, or set special characters, such as those used in mathematics that are not easy to find and type on the keyboard.
Each icon can be associated with a text to be easily identifiable or a color for example to classify a series of keys into groups.
To facilitate the management of passwords as well as being able to store those we already use, Columbus Egg has a password generator inside, this allows you to generate very complex passwords up to 32 characters including special ones.
Currently the Columbus Egg can be configured with 7 different keyboard layouts and languages, American (US(, Italian (IT), Spanish (SP), Portuguese (PT), French (FR), German (DE), English (UK), also supports operation on both Windows, MacOS or Linux systems.
The device can manage up to 4 users, each user can configure up to 48 independent keys arranged in 3 pages, its language and its operating system, each user can set a security PIN for access so that it can also be used by multiple users without the risk of sharing information.
The Columbus Egg is completely configurable from WebServer, it is equipped with an internal WebServer that can only be activated from the device in case we need to set or change the configuration, it does not connect to existing networks and is not visible from other computers, in normal use the Columbus Egg is completely disconnected from any network for maximum security of the data entered and therefore unreachable by cyber attacks, all data stored inside is encrypted with a double key and each device has its own unique key, always for data security there are Backup and Restore functions for each individual user, this allows you to have a copy of the data entered or allow migration to another device of the same type.
The device is powered via USB or USB Type C, does not require batteries for operation, is equipped with a standby function that lowers the brightness in case of inactivity for a programmable time, furthermore there is the possibility of updating the system always via WebServer.
Customizations of the home screen are possible, with the insertion of the Logo, QRCode or name of the customer, or languages not present as a base for orders to be agreed.
